IE Going Slow? Uninstall Adobe Toolbar.
« on: October 29, 2010, 01:02:18 PM »
I'm posting this because my IE (which I use only when a website isn't compatible with FF or Chrome) has been taking forever too load for me.

What fixed it for me was completely removing the adobe toolbar from my system, which is no easy trick.
To do it in Win7 go to control panel in classic view>programs and features>adobe acrobat>uninstall/change>next>modify.  Click on "Create Adobe PDF" and change it to "this feature will not be available"

Ta-da!

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Chaikel: Why?
Because Windows Explorer, an integral part of Windows, runs on IE.
It may be different in Vista/7

There are programs that will always send back to IE even if all htm(l) files etc are pointing by default to another browser.

Last time I did it was in my previous gilgul.

It involved add remove win components, and manually exterminate some files and registry keys.

If it doesn't remove windows explorer, then you can still browse the web w WE, which is IE in a different shell

Not exactly, as you might have a hard time using ftp from ie, but on explorer it work fine.

Furthermore, browsers such as crazybrowser, which uses the ie backbone, to function, run way faster, and would still run, even if ie has been defaced to the point where it wouldn't erun any longer.
