Good cleaners
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:31:58 PM »
I am tired of paying 3 or 4 hundred dollars on a suit and then having it killed by the cleaners. Similar story with a tie that gets a stain. I would like to know what everyone thinks is the best cleaners that cleans your things without actually killing them.

IMO/IME once a tie gets dirty it's done. I don't even attempt to send it to the cleaners. How is the cleaners killing your suit?

I'm sure some people will disagree, but for men's clothing they all seem fine to me.  'Good', in my book, means good customer service, good location, and only occasionally loses a shirt ;-)

Best solution is to get shirts with hard-to-crack buttons. For example, I've never had the cleaners crack a button on my CTs.

Do they box shirts well?
I travel a lot so boxing is essential. If not, anyone has recommendations in BP?

Firstly avoid sending stuff to the cleaners as much as you can. Spot wash any stains with water. Invest in a clothes steamer. Switch suits and pants often. The next thing is it doesn't matter if it's a 300  or 800 suit. It depends on the material. Never go above 120 or below 100. The super 140 and 150 get shiny and wrinkled quickly.
Lastly I will send my stuff sometimes to deluxe cleaners in Clifton nj they are excellent or for very expensive suits 1500 and up to either madame Paulette in new York City or for a wedding gown and something exquisite to rave in Scottsdale Arizona they are world famous. I live I  lakewood and have tried everyone it's all the same garbage.
