Any way to get that check besides account being shut ?
Awesome idea for MS. Spend $1500 on a Freedom Q5 and have them send a check upon account closure. You can keep opening and closing accounts. Perhaps one for each of your freedom cards.  :D

I believe that that's what you had up your sleeve?

I have an account that had a free year of prime & its almost a year & there's a large GC balance thanks to the amex offer. Not sure if I wanna get another year of prime on that account. So I'm trying to find out what my options are.

Please report back how it went. If it works we may be able to start churning...

All one would need now it for Amazon to realize that people are starting to use this method as a(n) MS tactic. Open account, fill up the balance, close account, get check for refund, use it to pay the credit card bill.
