Interestingly I was approved for this card on Friday, but I still do not see a hard inquiry on any of the three major bureaus. No freezes or anything like that, but I don't see anything on any of the bureaus as of this morning...

So I got approved for this card, but when I tried to make a purchase at CVS which US Bank wouldn't allow through even after confirming my identity through an automated call and two layers of humans in the fraud department, who cited a variety of reasons why they couldn't let it the charge through ranging from "the account is too new" to "the system knows it's a gift card purchase which isn't allowed with a credit card."

We all know the second reason was fake, but has anyone else had success making large ($495+) transactions at CVS or elsewhere with the Avianca card?

Sure, the issue here is the fraud systems at US Bank take 3-6 minutes to reset after your card gets flagged. In my case a $3500 charge got flagged on a new card (surprise surprise), but went through just fine after a call to their fraud department and 5 minutes killing time chatting w/ the cashier.

Without that wait I've always been rejected again when re-swiping, even after clearing the charge w/ fraud detection.

Thanks Hank...I actually spent half an hour there waiting around and bothering the very kind cashiers who tried multiple times to process the transaction even after speaking to two agents in the fraud department. I guess I'll try again another day and see if that works.

First try to get approved for one, then worry about 2/3BM questions.

Mesh, I would first try one but for the trip that I'm planning 40k won't be enough. So it's 2 or none.

They've been denying the blocking, but it's blatantly obvious from their site, nothing has been bookable this month.
No idea what's going on.
