Thanks.
In which hotels did you end up staying?

On main island it was Avani resort and on La digue it was "Le Relax Luxury Lodge" which I highly recommend avoiding. Pictures made it look nice and it was anything but that.

With no less than 3 airlines now offering direct flights from TLV to SEZ, I thought it's worth revisiting the topic.

I've been to Mauritius and it's amazing - great hotel redemptions, and a great Chabad Shalia'h, which provided us with all the food / wine we needed, and we always managed to make a minyan when somehow needed to say Kadish (it was in December / high season).

Sadly Mauritius is still closed for the time being (they require 14-day in-room quarantine).

SEZ has no Marriott hotel besides the famous North Island, where certs can't be used. However there are a few Hiltons etc

Anyone been there lately? Any feedback? Thx!
was there about two years ago.
The Hilton properties are very nice. Silhouette island is gorgeous and they were extremely accommodating with kosher, went above and beyond. The only pain is teh boat ride to and from the island with limtied times. We spent one day on La digue and it was excellent. Also one night on SEZ at the hilton there. It was nice, but the one on Silhouette was nicer. There are beautiful hotels on the main island. We had a local guide drive us around the last day and we stopped by some of the hotels. Ridiculous views, but extremely expensive and not modern luxurious.

My guess is, it'll become popular once nice hotels with points possibilities open.

There are some direct flights from Israel where many young couples reside.
Always praying for delayed baggage.

I would volunteer ;). If you don't get there first  ;D.

But how many people exactly are going to be able to replicate staying there for 5 nights at 1.85m points?

Go all the way there and pay helicopter transfer just for 2 nights 🤔?

At 387k points per night, people can stay 5 nights at other cat 8 hotels and still have points left over if you don't go peak season. But obviously the experience you get here is probably not a comparison. Definitely an aspirational destination, if there's ever been one.

You guys are referring to North Island?

There are other hotels there too  :)
Probably not worth the shlep from the US but solid options from Israel, with 6-hour direct flights
