I would like to open a citi or BOA checking account, both require a Direct Deposit to avoid the monthly fee, I don't have an official direct deposit, is there any way to transfer money into my account and it should be considered as a DD?
like paypal or so!

Make 2 DD from your BOA to your Citi or any other bank then transfer it back.

Try it, it will, however, eat up from the account limit which means opportunity cost.

Transferring from one of your checking accounts to another certainly works w/o eating the AP or BB limits.

Are you sure that pay pal or amazon payments are considered as a direct payment?
Transfer from one account to the other (different banks) has a fee, no?
And is it at all considered a DD or a bank transfer?? (it's 2 different things, correct me if I'm wrong)

I just tried it with santander - bank transfers dont count, neither does paypal or amazon payments.

any other suggestions?

+1 thought so, don't know why the guys here suggest to do it.

They work to avoid fees with chase, but not for the bonus.

From reading up thread it seems it was never actually tried just that they asked the bank if it would work... If you have a bb,rc or serve try that. You can also try with pp.

How would i know though if it meets requirement for checking bonus

At that point I'd PUTPAC, ask them if their system shows if you're qualifying or not (meaning don't just ask them to check the transactions...)
I've never done this but could be the have some sort of checklist on the consumers side that shows you how many things you still need to do....

Iv done this and it worked for me in Chase wouldn't understand y it won't work for any other bank so give it a try. It's a real pay check site.
