CAMM has been approved to eventually replace SODIMM.
Among other things:
Quote
CAMM even enables the possibility of LPDDR6 on a replaceable module. LPDDR, or low-power DDR RAM, has long been preferred for smaller and thinner laptops as well as phones for power savings. It’s also long been implemented only as soldered-on.

There goes one more excuse for soldered RAM.

A rumor that mid-range dedicated graphics is being phased out because the integrated chips on most processors are usually sufficient.

Besides, you are already seeing RTX 2050s in laptops that are built the same way as laptops without them.

Microsoft wants to know what version of Office you are running... badly. So it wants to scan your computer for it. If your office is cracked, beware.

Nothing can replace tag without getting rabbinical backing. The issue isn’t technology or the reliability of the filter, it’s adoption and branding. TAG had cornered that market and you’ll have to beat them on their (or the community’s) terms.

I would trust a Google-baked technology filter vs some home brewed TAG solution. If anyone knows how to filter the internet, it’s Google.

Right the same people who are trying to sell you more ads. I am not a big proponent of TAG at all, but many companies they use are big companies that worked to make their software work without workarounds, not just stuffed in another feature to their already complicated offerings.

Depends how you need to use it, is how good it will be for you.
But family link has a superior advantage to be the most baked into the phone

A bit of both.
It can block any downloaded app, and prevent new apps from being downloaded. (Not discussing nuances in guaranteeing this.)
If you only allow chrome on the phone, you can whitelist or blacklist sites, or use their built in filter.

My point is that no filter is foolproof, but implemented well - family has a superior quality. every other android filter (outside of Samsung maybe) is working usually on an app level, albeit fairly deep.
Family link has more infallibility due to the fact it's system level and not app level
