Enterprise Rental Help
« on: November 03, 2010, 08:59:14 AM »
I'd like to drive from LA to Seattle. Any idea how I could rent a car one way - at a local location - and still get unlimited mileage.

April 1-5

The airport for my dates are pricing out at over $1,000! I tried to book locally but mileage is only unlimited in AZ, NV and CO and I'll obviously need it in WA and OR.

Thanks!

How old are you?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

will be 24 at time of rental...I do have the LKWD corporate code that priced out cheaper then the Chabad one and knocks off the underage fee.

Back in the day when I used to rent a lot National was (just about) always the best for one ways. I don't know how they are these days.

One way from an enterprise local location?
1. AFAIK officially they don't do one ways. (I think some places do regionally)
2. the only way that'll be worth it is if the distance is not so far and you have the car for a while. for example: Recently, I was looking into a minivan one way from NY > BOS, keeping it for 2 weeks. most places wanted at least $750/week. I made a regular reservation by enterprise (probably $350/week) and asked what the penalty would be if I returned it elsewhere, IIRC they said $150 + .25/mile (to where I dropped it off, not miles driven) -I don't remember the exact numbers but it was something like that.
In that scenario (2 week rental, 250 miles away) it would've been much, much cheaper using enterprise, but when you're talking about 1000+ miles and only a few days I don't know...

it seems that the usual 21 and under corporates that the "younger" renters use, like chabad, bmg etc., charge an underage fee only from airport locations.

if its not such a major difference in price, sign up for usaa membership (free), and rent from hertz. Hertz knocks off the fee if your a member of usaa, and gives you an 11% discount automatically. also hertz has great weekend rates, with cars starting at around 20.00 a day....
