I believe I've  said this here before: I will not give my money to a company which I don't know how they are making money. In the end they'll make money off me, somehow.
so your just not doing offers like this because ur afraid of losing a few dollars...good enough reason  but if you knew people actually making money would u join?

Would you have "invested" money in Madoff after you saw others making tons of money?

Article worth reading:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-ap-madoff-clawback-dupe,0,7165580.story
Even the one that made $7B in the Madoff scam had to give it back.

I don't put money into shady things and this is as shady as it gets.

Pyramids/Ponzis/MLM call it whatever you want it's always the same business model and it winds up hurting many gullible folks.  I want no part of it which is why I took a stand against it and have turned down tons of good money in order to save more people from going down a sorry road.

Back to my analogy.
If Madoff also sold dollar coins at half price would you involved in such a business? It's obviously just a ploy to make the business look "legitimate."  After all you need to sell a product!

But ultimately what pays the bills is the continued recruiting of new suckers.  Once the suckers have run out the whole thing collapses.

I'm not sure what you don't understand. I have done similar offers in the past, but there I knew exactly how they were making money (signing up people to recurring payments on a CC and not really telling them) so I knew what to watch out for. Here, who knows? I told my reasoning to one of the pyramid bricks and he told me that he would look into it. He gets back to me and tells me that they make money from the online shopping they (used to?) have. I told him that I don't think that's enough to cover it all, so I'm not getting involved.

+1 this is the best explanation imo.

so to sum it up we got reasons not to do this:
1) (asher0) afraid wont work-too good to be true
2)(elikay) since dont know how it works dont get involved
3)(dan) dont get involved with company that ends up taking advantage of other people-basically a moral-ethical thing

I'm sure there are many more links.
Notice how they started by actually offering groceries at rock-bottom prices.  While that looked more legitimate (after all who knows what they really pay for groceries?)  But obviously that got too expensive so now they just subsidize GC's by the continued recruitment of suckers to pay the bills.

It can't last forever.  I guarantee it.

A shame you have pity on the people, otherwise I'd suggest to open a new mlm, right here and now.
We would be the top level, and raking profits.

The top people do indeed make a killing.  There's no denying that.
But once again, so did Madoff.
