I was on that flight. About 2-3 hours in the crew kept going on the PA and asking if there are doctors on board. After asking a few more times when we were already over the atlantic the captain said that we will be landing in Keflavik. No one seemed to panic, everything was okay except for the time we were on the ground and people kept going to the bathroom and wanting to pray despite the crew begging not to. We ended up only 1.5 hours late. (I am the tweets above)

FWIH there was a medical emergency aboard and a Hatzolah Paramedic on board requested the pilot should make an emergency landing.

As far as I know she was left there. Beats Tehran I guess. It's always somewhat amusing to see the amount of people who raise their hands on flights to Israel when people ask if there are doctors on board.

I think the order for emergency landings from trans-atlantic flights is Iceland, Halifax, Bangor.
I was on a BA flight from LHR-JFK and there was a medical emergency. We were halfway between Maine and JFK and they made a 180 and landed in Maine. The annoying part was that since BA doesn't usually land in there, they needed to contact other airlines so that they can refuel.
