@Dan wrote here that the cheap flights to Israel were ending then. There is still some availability now (including summer and Pesach bein hazmanim (although right before and after pesach is high)). Search with Expedia flexible dates to find the cheaper tickets.

As vaccinations ramp up the prices may go up, so you might want to lock in now. Also, the ETC is only available for tickets booked in 2020.

I'm not familiar with AmEx, but when I booked with Chase UR, it was considered a cash booking and was refunded as a ETC.

Virgin Atlantic has some bargains for YK/Sukkos. For example, 9/12/21-10/3/21 for $573 with reasonable layover at LHR.
