I have a Honda Accord, and according to my research it's not possible to properly switch the lease to someone else. Does anyone know anything about transferring Honda leases?

why wouldn't it be enough to just transfer the registration and insurance which can be done.

I've never transfered registration, so not sure how it's done. It won't be an issue at all if it's registered to someone who's not on the financial papers?

No not at all I had it done. The only thing tht has to match is registration and insurance (in NY)  You or the leasing co calls Honda to get a copy of the Title they generally will fax it over within 48 hrs. And then you could get new registration in anyone's name.

Bounced checks won't make up for missed car payments.

They will let you fully transfer it out of your name only if you have a valid excuse. One valid excuse that I'm aware that works is financial problems and that you won't be able to continue making payments. Once they approve that you're eligible to transfer than they need to approve the person taking over like the regular lease approval process.
The rule is, Honda is harder to get them to agree to transfer but when they approve it's totally out of your name. Toyota approves easier but you remain like a co-signer.

The registration on a leased car isn't under the person who's leasing, it's under Honda IINM, that won't help you.

You probably mean the title. Of course the registration is under the lessees name.

What do you want me to check? I know I have to renew my registration every 2 years and I get billed from the DMV, not Toyota.

Here it seems like you guys just pay the fee upfront for the entire lease period.

Honda will make you stay on as a co as well
