Call Lakewood Auto Sales.

They will "buy" the vehicle and "sell" it to you for a nominal fee.

Avoids paying tax twice.

Probably your best bet.
Only issue is here, the leasing company/Hyundai doesn't allow 3rd party buy outs.

That generally does not apply to a car dealer

Put yourself as a co owner with him when you're registering the car

Call him anyways. They work with dealers that can buy cars out. I know they were able to buy leases if you wanted to sell. Idk if he would be willing to do this, but worth asking.

Like you said it's worth a call.
I was thinking I may be better off calling a frum place where you get plates and registration done, and see what they recommend.
As I heard today from someone, what they did was...they left the title in the name of the original owner, and just swapped the registration and insurance to the new owner(a sibling).
As this is what that place recommended for them to do.

So it seems the best option would be to either gift it, co owner(though i'm not exactly how thats done.)or this last way mentioned above.

@Richie10 Assuming there's no need to have myself on the title as a co owner, though not sure if that's even possible being that they dont allow 3rd p buyouts.

Thanks guys, seems the best way to avoid taxes is by gifting it from one to another, i'll even have him write me up a letter to be safe when at the mvc.
Though curious if anyone is familiar with adding a co owner or retaining the statues as the original owner.
 see here below. Thanks guys.

In regards to the title.
Being that in NJ you need the title to be in your name to be able to register the vehicle.

Taking over a lease with a hyundai which doesn't allow for 3rd party buyouts.

 To simplify my q.
Hyundai wrote out a title to Mr A(My Brother inlaw).

Now I paid the full payoff amount.(not that it makes a difference in regards to this q)
Curios which form or what's my best bet for me to take over without having him register the car in his name and then take the car from him.
Usually on a title there's room for a buyer and seller to mark who sold what.
But being that he got a filled title from Hyundai it says they're the seller and he's the buyer.
What my best course of action to simplify this transfer?
Anyone who did a recent sale of they don't mind chiming in. Thanks.

1st of all Mazel Tov. Behsha Tovah Umitzlchas..

f you can't find anything here try car shadchan. He many times has great deals and you can always flip after using.  May be much easier to flip if you buy a decent car versus buying a garbage car.  Then again many people want a second car that's a garbage car so you may have luck both ways.

Thanks for your Mazel Tov.

I like your idea. The only problem is that I don't currently have the cash to layout to buy a car.
It would be easier to rent / lease.

Does the car shadchan match people who want to take over other peoples' leases?

Car shadchan said he only does buying and selling. No leases.

Anyone know of a lead for someone looking to get out of a lease?
Any other ideas? Desperately need a car for a few months (till mid July)

I have an i4 lease to transfer, placed around 2800 in MSD, and around 520 USD monthly costs.

Sunset orange external, cool and great car.
I wanna upgrade to another i4 with more options, let me know if someone is interested.
