Is there really a shidduch crisis going on? If guys are finding shidduchim, and each guy is marrying a girl then unless there are way more girls, there shouldn't be a crisis. And if there are more girls then the only solution is polygamy. And I don't see that happening any time soon.

Its not that there are more girls over all. The problem is that, for the most part, guys date girls that are younger than they are. Since we are a growing population, there are more younger girls than the guys who want to date that age group.

Pretty crazy but I just had someone who is older and in the dating world and pretty much told me the same thing.

Its a fact, I can go on forever besides for getting laid, guys these days can cook, have a social life, do wash, clean their diggs.. the female crowd can pursue careers.

I cant imagine this is applicable to morethan a very small portion of the frum community; anyway, why are people so busy trying to be shadchanim? Their time would be better served helping people get good jobs.

I happen to believe that pickiness and obstinance, along with a limited desire to marry is the bigger problem.

Well obviously as the "ultra-orthodox"  population grew,  the issue got bigger. 

And yes,  girls start dating when thier 18-19. Boys start when thier 22-23, so there's your answer
