New Shidduch Idea

I have both a boy and girl in shiduchim.
We get calls from everyone who's ever heard of a single girl.  Many are so off the mark, it's a waste of everyone's phone time.
But if it's a shadchan and not just the girl's friend,  I tell them about my daughter.  For her we've gotten many fewer suggestions, but they've been much more on target.

I agree. Better to have less suggestions and dates, but the ones that take place should be 'on target'.

1- dated out of town girl 8 times with flights cars & dates it adds up pretty quickly ask around from those that have.
2- I dated from Lakewood so besides for the rear freebies - eg Lakewood girl that I can hit Starbucks locally it entails driving to say bkln gAs& tolls easy 80$ ( Lakewood bkln rndtrp 120 miles bkln NYC another 40miles so 160-200 miles = 40$ gas & rolls easy other 40$ unless u bend over backwards to avoid some tolls ) first 3 yrs car rental 50$ ( with best Corprate rates) & u didn't even pay for parking drinks . Meal or activity !!
Ask around dating is a fortune!! & IMO the best thing ppl could do 2 get more seasoned ( read burnt out ) 2 go on dates with girls that they feel is very unlikely 2 b their wife ( which is how most of them feel)- is to somehow defray the cost & shlep

Your right the dates that were local when I didn't have to rent car or drive to city ( say 15% of dates )  were nothing but any date that involved more than that is a lot lot more
