At minimum, it looks like JetBlue might be going to a different program year. Otherwise, kind of odd for JetBlue to give another month of Mosaic to its inflated ranks of Mosaic, after this year's status matches.

because those mosaic members are really costing them so much?

They're obviously costing JetBlue something, or else JetBlue wouldn't be so stingy with status matches.

Randomly extending this freebie for another month doesn't make a whole lot of sense by itself.

No -- award charts are changed with no notice.  Changes to elite status, ranks, qualifications are given plenty of notice.

TrueBlue is a one-tier program, and changing the program year wouldn't require any advance notice at all.

Nothing "requires" advance notice per terms. Despite that, changes to elite status are--in fact--given advance notice.

How would it be a change in elite status to simply change the program year's starting date for future years? In this case, moving it back would actually be a benefit, so no one would be harmed by a lack of notice.

rep told me today that they were just informed that mosaic status from 2016 will be extended 1 month into 2017.
I lost my Mosaic from the match (plan to have it back by the end of the month though).

Bought a ticket on 03/30 with points and price / points went down, JetBlue advised they honor difference within 15 days if you contact them on phone, per their policy.

Customers in cities with multiple flights can travel standby only on the same day.
If traveling out of a city with only one daily flight, the airport can list you for the previous or next day.
Note that the next flight to your confirmed flight may be a nonstop or a connecting flight.
