I'm looking for a Keurig that the water is as hot as kettle, all the models I tried weren't so hot.

Did you try the Vue? It lets you control a bunch of different variables in the brewing process, including temperature.

For starters, run the Keurig through without a K-cup just to make sure the water flow pathway is hot, and use the water to heat the mug you're using.  This way, you're going to get coffee as hot as it can possibly be from the Keurig (which will never be as hot as a Kettle -- but that wouldn't be the right temperature to extract the right flavor from the coffee anyway).

There are also adjustable water temps on the Keurig models from Elite and higher.

I know, but even at the highest temperature it's not so hot.

Not sure but it's either the platinum plus or the k75 platinum.

What are you assuming the optimal temperature is for brewing? Most people say it's in the range of 195-205 degrees. That's not attainable with a Keurig, but it is for a kettle.

The max is 192 degrees. You can squeeze another 5 degrees hotter out of the Vue series (6 degrees if you get the top model). Probably not worth the cost though.

A Kettle boils at 212 (less by the time you pour out obviously), so I was simply saying that looking for a Keurig machine as hot as a kettle would not be terribly useful for good coffee

I think you mean that water boils at 212 F (give or take, depending on the altitude). You can get whatever temp you want if you have the right kettle.

Right, the kettle will boil at around 2500°F.

It probably only melts at 2500...Boiling point would be higher

Yes, and I already addressed that comment. You can't make the water in the Keurig hotter (at least with that model), but you can let kettle water cool down a bit (or use a more precise option like the kettles I linked to).

Iirc I can raise the temp to197 on the model I have. Whatever it is, I have it set to the highest temp and I wish it could get just a little hotter.

You can remove the K-Cup from the Keurig, and pour a shift of plain, hot water into your cup to heat it up.
Let the hot water sit there for a minute or two, if you have the time (tehillim, brachos, make your office lunch, wtvr....)
Then, pour out the hot water and then have your actual K-Cup of coffee made fresh in your pre-heated coffee mug -- Will be a lot hotter!

(PS - If you use milk, you can pre-heat that, too)
