Thermostat in the wrong place
« on: March 06, 2014, 02:41:00 AM »
The thermostat is in the kitchen/dining room area which is always warmer then the rest of the house so the second floor and basement is always colder.I am not looking to rewire anything, does anyone have any ideas or can recommend a wireless thermostat  that i can put one per a floor and it will control the main thermostat (were the wiring is) and it will average out the temperature through the house.
Thanks

Set the temp higher/lower for Shabbos?

Btw are there any reasonably priced wifi enabled thermostats that can be controlled with remotely with apps?

You might be able to very easily move your thermostat to the other side of the wall that it on now. Jus make a little hole and push the wire through

Bring up new wires to a different place is not that expensive.  I had it done years ago.  Some small holes in the wall to patch afterward.

I'm looking for something that I can add wireless "thermometer's" to read the temp in different parts of the house

I don't think that one will help you at all, it's not wireless, it's wifi enabled- meaning it needs to be mounted with wires, it just allows you to control the temp via WIFI

You need something like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001O4F8Y4
but it can be confusing, and you will need a C wire to mount the receiver- you can mount it next to your boiler and and put the wireless thermostat anywhere, you don't need to hang it on a wall (you can get a wifi kit with this one too)
