Profound as usual.

Many might even say it was more profound than usual.

Melicha, eh? For smicha? I remember learning those simanim. When I got smicha, my Rosh Yeshiva asked me, "Vos vestdu zoggen dein chaver ven er zogt az er vil essen a k'chal?" I said with a totally straight face, "I would tell him that he should speak to a mashpia."

The RY did not laugh. I told him, "It's a joke. It's just a weird taaveh to want to eat a cow udder." He told me, "Mach nisht kein 'dzhuks.'" So I said, "Fine, tear it up and down, rub it against the wall, then burn it over the fire. Are you still sure my friend doesn't need to speak to a mashpia?"

When I learned those simanim, my magid shiur mentioned that for every issur, Hashem created something kosher for us to have. The k'chal is to counter basar b'chalav.

True. And after all, I didn't know how much I'd like liver until I tried it.

Although, liver is much less gross to eat than blood which it is replacing.

Tell us one cool thing you learned from today's daf, or any recent daf.

Not exactly a limud, but you can keep an esrog in a vacuum and it will stay fresh the entire time. As soon as you take it out, it will shrivel within a few minutes.
