I often see items in Daily Deals which have always been that price.

sure you can, just select the cc as the primary payment method under the cc profile

I think you can only do that if you dont have your bank account linked. If you do then they make your automatic payment method the bank account.

Do I lose anything by unlinking my bank account?

Verified status. I forgot exactly what you gain by having it but I remember when I was going through this issue myself I decided it was worth it to manually change the payment method every time.

Another option is to call your bank and ask them to never allow Paypal to withdraw funds from your bank account and Paypal will try be declined and default to your secondary payment method ie. your credit card.

Chase charges like 30$ to do that but my friend had the fee waived for him. Also do that method at your own risk because I still have no idea how Paypal would react to this in the long term

IIRC I was able to do it by de-selecting my bank account as back up funding for purchases.

If you delink your bank account you may have a limit on purchases. I actually called Paypal and had them remove the account with no repercussions. I do spend 5 digits on paypal annually though. He told me that's why he's doing it and that I've been with them for close to 15 years(!)

I think you can't use more than $500 in a purchase

How do you do that?

Just checked it out.
For a personal account, go to:
Settings/Payments Settings/Payment Preferences/Edit and choose credit card.

I can't seem to find the option for a business account.

Thanks!

Be careful, I did this and it shows my CC as the main source but it still selects my Checking account as the initial payment source.
