Here are the rules of the new camp for truant Haredi youth, subsidized and partially run by the Israeli government.

I'm so glad this extremely important detail was included. I just wish they clarified if your kippah must have a rim, or is it OK without one.

Reads like the rules of a camp for truant Haredi youth, but subsidized by the Israeli government.

Well, it was written by the Jewish Press.

Hazel described her first morning without her son: "Today at 6 a.m. for the first time in 418 days I did not call the nurses station to get your blood test results. I did not worry if you had another fever or infection. I got up, I went to the kitchen that I had not been in for 418 days, and I tried to remember how to use the coffee machine."
....
She also recounted his dedication to prayer: "After you first woke up in November of 2023, you asked for your tefillin (phylacteries). Praying was always something you always did, even later in the day, you would ask: 'What time is it, can I still put on tefillin?' When you had too many wires and bandages on you taught me how to wrap your tefillin. You always smiled as I never got it right and you had to wait for Dad to fix it.

I just don't understand why we can't unite around this. Why can't all segments of society come together around this, feel the pain of this family. Attend the funeral, shiva, etc.
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Unfortunately, as a bereaved parent (Sids...) I find these things to painful for me, though I wish I could find the strength...
I used to do it, but since Meron and the start of the war I just havent the emotional strength. I couldn't even go to the ST shiva that was on my own street.
BH day to day life is OK.

But in practice I agree.

I was at a more or less closed forum meeting with one of the gedolie yisroel  today (though prob someone will be an idiot and leak a video), and one of the points he made was even though all that he said against the draft, and the sakana ruchnis... still we need to have hakaras hatov to each individual soldier for their sacrifices, not to the concept of the army and its leadership, but to each chayal.
