If you opt for paper statements, ask them to not print check images on the statement to avoid the $4 fee. You should still be able to view the check images on the web site.

I think I am going to have an account with almost ever major bank. That's what the bonuses make me do.

Can someone confirm that opening this checking will only be a soft pull? Someone mentioned this above, but Dan once said, "opening a checking account is by default a hard pull". Of course, I am not applying for any overdraft protection--things that would necessitate hard pull.

I would say Yes. Each month I use amazon payments to get the 10&10 checking bonus from Santander bank.

True that there are no points gained for CA, but the real gain comes with ~$200 cash. If you use CC's (which you'll get points for) to fund amazon payments, then deposit that into your account as DD, then make payments to those CC's then that's no money spent! 

Then for the debit card transactions just buy $1 things 10 times..

So use a Chase card that was reported to post as a purchase and earn some points. I did.

What fees? And what does 30 days have to do with anything? It's not like you could churn this. You can take more than 30 days to complete the requirements for the bonus if you want.
