It's a special skill to be able to use a hashgacha pratis story to be merachek yidden... on a kiruv site no less!

I trust Aish.com knows what they're doing.

I am not understanding all the hate towards the article. I loved this story very much.

I rather see it as a zechus that happened to that guy because the travel agent didn't want to book him a trip on Shabbos, not so much because that guy didn't fly on Shabbos. It's definitely the travel agent that deserves the credit.

Yes, they know what they are doing. It is consistent with their principles. It doesn't mean that others wouldn't do differently and don't have different principles.

Even that guy didn't observe that Shabbos, when he emailed back the travel agent that he is right "I should be more observant" he had something in his mind. So even at the end he didn't observe we know that when someone is making a real קבלה it counts for hashem. Even if at the end of the day he didn't actually do what he had in mind.

For all those criticizing and saying how can you say that all the people on the plane were somehow "punished" for not keeping Shabbos? There is an answer given by the Lubavitcher Rebbe regarding his Mezuzah campaign under the slogan שומר דלתות ישראל. The Mezuzah (or any other Mitzvah for that matter) is like a helmet that protects the wearer, not wearing a helmet doesn't mean you will be "punished" it just means that if there are bullets flying around, those wearing a helmet have that extra protection.

Do you speak for all Christians, Muslims, and atheists? Or just the ones in your family?

What about the victims' families?

Are you saying this to be politically correct?

What about Zen and Buddhism and Free File Sharing in Denmark?

All religions are not equal and by equalizing them you negate and invalidate ALL of them (including your own).

Oiy, you continue to miss the point.

You're failure to appreciate that others may have different viewpoints continues to be undercut your every post.  You continually pointing to Judaism as the justification to all people who are not Jewish continues to undercut your every post. And, finally, your continued presumptuousness to speak for all religions and non-religions beyond Judaism belies most everything you've posted.

I think I get your point.

You are saying that other religions view our beliefs as just as illogical as we see theirs.

I understand this.

But just because someone has a different viewpoint means that it is correct or true. That is the crucial bit.

What do I care? if it helps them be better people and live more fulfilled lives (and as long as they don't use it as motivation to blow me up) let them enjoy...
