Heard another story.  Man from beijing. Traditional family but not frum however  were strict about only eating kosher meat. Was in Malaysia on business. Was supposed to be on mh370. However his wife called and said with passover coming up,  could he make a detour in i forget which country, and pick up a case of kosher meat. So he switched his flight.
I asked the person who told me this story to see if he can verify it.
He had more details which made it more believable,  but I forgot them

 If he was a Gentile then yes he was saved by the PGA, if he was a Yid and was saved by the PGA, I don't know the answer, but I'm sure the bigger DDF Chachomim can chime in  ;)
