Dealing with The BankCorp
« on: March 12, 2014, 02:48:24 AM »
http://www.thebancorp.com/

The Bankcorp is the bank behind Net Spend, PayPal Prepaid and many other cards we are dealing with. After they closed my account, like they do to everybody, I had a very hard time getting back the money I had with them. I finely contacted the FDIC and the BBB and they promised me to overnight the check.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?

I am not sure what you meant but I couldn't find a thread about dealing (or getting AA) with The Bankcorp. Again they gave me a very hard time till I complaint to the FDIC & BBB and I thought I would share with everyone what worked for me.
I am not the only one that they give a hard time.

I meant to ask, why is this posted in the On The Road forum, and not the CC forum?

Have them merge it one of the other threads.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:

To Whom It May Concern:

We received complaint # xxxxxxx  filed with your office by Bostener. He states his accounts were closed and that he was given varying reasons as to why. He also mentions that he is being charged fees although he cannot use the accounts.

Mr. Bostener’s accounts were closed due to unacceptable usage patterns. The agents he spoke with were incorrect in regard to the reasons they provided concerning the closure and should not have attempted to speculate, as the account notations do not provide a specific reason. The specific details concerning the usage patterns are kept internal for security reasons. The management team of the agents he spoke with has been contacted concerning this complaint to ensure proper coaching is provided.

We apologize for the inconvenience Mr. Bostener experienced due to his accounts being closed. The automated fees charged to Mr. Bostener’s accounts were refunded. He spoke with a member of our corporate office on March 11, 2014 and was informed refund checks will be mailed to him for both accounts via UPS. The checks must be received from our Accounting Department before they can be expedited. He was informed we should receive them by March 17, 2014 so that we can place them in the mail to him via UPS.

Thank you,

Tyrone Lee
Customer Response Team Analyst
NetSpend Corporation

To clarify what they meant by “both accounts”. My complaint was about PP Prepaid, as I was on the phone with the “member of our corporate office on March 11, 2014” I told him I have another NetSpend card unopened that I just bought and since you don’t want my business I ask for a check for the $504.95 I paid for the card.

They say that they only write checks on Friday so they can only mail it on Monday.

Bostoner I think you should be very happy. What else do you want that they didn't give you? Incomm (MVD) is much worse, they wouldn't refund fees and it takes them a month to refund.

BankCorp doesn’t usually return fees either and they aren’t better when it comes to returning your money either except when you do what I did.
I have opened this thread to discuss how to get back your money faster.
Trying to deal with BankCorp directly could get you so frustrated that no one should tell you “I think you should be very happy”

I said that because I also contacted BBB regarding incomm and the response you got was way better than what I got. I couldn't get my fees back even after contacting BBB. Of course it's not ideal, but considering the circumstances, YES you should be very happy, because you probably couldn't get more.

Incomm gave similar response that you got, but they wouldn't refund any fees. I wrote back twice that I wasn't satisfied, but they wouldn't budge. There was no option to escalate. BBB did nothing but transfer correspondence. I didn't bother going to FDIC. I also had bought a second card before 1st was cancelled. I couldn't register it and they still refused to refund any fee. I had to wait at least a month for check to come in mail. I had an experience with a different card, green dot related, where I didn't pay a fee, which I couldn't register. They sent a refund in 10 days, including the normal fee which I hadn't paid!

Got both checks from Net Spend! One is with the fees and one is without but that's a small lie from this company.

Any risk paying with this check my Citi credit card?

Does it pay to bother to deposit in my checking wait till it clears and then send the payment to citi where I may miss the statement closing date?

How are they able to flag you for buying a PP Prepaid card? unless once you tried to credit it to your account they locked the card? and didn't let you transfer funds?
