When we were kids we had a story tape (it was yellow) and was the true story with medrashim and was very educational. Most of the above mentioned issues Do not apply to tapes. We knew almost all Shmuel kunda by heart

It is the exact same thing.  If you are concerned that a kid watching Lester will get confused that you get afraid that after listening to rebbe hill they will think that esther served franks and blanks at the party and if a rebbi doesn't mention that they will correct him.

I don't think they used any more or less creative license than the tapes did.

I have not seen lester
I have!  I didn't have any problem with it.  I thought it was hilarious and I don't see any real issues with it unless you are the really sheltered type.

If the issue is confusion I don't see your claim of אינו דומה שמיעה לראיה (thanks for pointing out that while I was still hungover I misspelled shtuyot)

For those that didn't see it I will give a bit of a spoiler and explain it.

Lester has something heavy fall on him and gets knocked out.  He has a dream and in his dream he finds himself at achashveirosh's party.  It is very clear that the whole thing is a dream.  He convinces vashti that she should go the party and now esther can't become queen so Lester realizes that everything is messed up.  He spends the rest of the film trying to figure out how vashti can die and esther will have the chance to become queen. It is very clear that it is a parody and that you need to know the real story to appreciTe the film which is ok because I think everyone in the world really does know the Purim story.
I don't think anyone is going to get seriously confused.  And to the person who wrote up thread (like 5 pages ago) that it was boring I disagree.  I thought it was hilarious.

Maybe because I live in golus I am not sensitive enough to the real issues.

I haven't watched either, but this is what I've heard.

And to respond: I'm glad you weren't confused. I think a 4 year old would be though.

Terrific. And I'll be sure to lock my 4 year old out of the room while my 10 and 12 year old watch.

c'mon you really got to watch it to comment. It also helps to have 10, 12, and 4 year olds.  I have all three.  The four year old will get just as confused from an accurate portrayal as he will from this.

As I mentioned above, can you put yourself in a 6 year olds shoes and still say that there is no room for confusion.

My rebbeim never touched me. While I am very pleased by this fact, it makes me question my self esteem.
Maybe I'm just not his type? Maybe my dimples weren't as deep as the next guy's? Was I SOOO ugly that he wouldn't even take a pass at me?

Unfortunately this isn't a joke to many. Not a good topic to joke about ever. Especially on a public forum.

She is R' Shneur's daughter and she probably knows more than most Roshei yeshiva what's appropriate and what's not

just FTR & bec. I'm bored, she's actually R' Shneurs niece; R' Dov Shwartzmans daughter.
