I don't think it's up to Pixar standards yet. Light years ahead of anything else in the Jewish field, but still not Pixar. I'd say it's more at The Sims level now. Also, the audio is quite bland... Not unlike many of the Jewish children's story tapes.

Nobody is argueing the fact of quality that this movie has. But why the heck do they feel the need to "REFORM" the purim story.
Either its Jewish or NON Jewish!! To change the Torah and story of purim because the production is so great is simply called REFORMED JUDAISM.

What a shud that they didn't make it the REAL story of purim, i would've bought it and marveled over it for the quality.

Watched it, seems that lots of effort and money was put into the production. It's sad, as a. there is a strange story line, far from the purim story, b. many non-educational lines, behaviors or scary images, c. once you watch it you have no interest watching it again (boring feeling).

The creative talent should have taken a page out of the "Young Avraham" video that is funny, creative, lessons and history learned, and based on medrashim.

My brother likes it, it's supposed to be cute.
But why the need to make it similar to Purim.
What's really weird is that in the behind the scenes they're busy explaining that different things and scenes are the way they are because of various different midrashim on the Megila. But then they say that is fictional and made up. Why the need for the Midrashic explanations of it's clearly not the story of Purim

There are already so many Purim books, tapes etc.
There are Pesach Haggadahs with cartoons that I've seen in very Rebbe-she people's houses. This is no different.

In fact it's a masterpiece and we probably need more Jewish media like it - or kids will have no alternatives to Dreamworks, Pixar, etc.

take it easy, stop exaggerating with the comparisons to reform.
what wrong with someone coming up with an original idea, if you want to make a high quality re-enactment to the megilla, go for it. don't complain when someone wants to make their own story (and he clearly states many times that it is not the megilla story at all, it is the product of their imagination)

I personally wouldn't want my kids to equate Judaism with media like this. That'll just make our entire mesora into a story. I'd rather then watch pixar and know it's fictional than think the megila is fictional too

I've watched the video and would like to clarify that the storyline never attempts to pawn itself off as the Purim story ...not even for a moment.

 It clearly states the fact on numerous occasions that it's just a dream that will become the school's Purim shpiel. As a veteran mechanech told me, I found nothing confusing or misleading. I can see, however, where some communities might be uncomfortable with the humor. For others, though, it seems to be a kosher media outlet with nothing vulgar or profane.

What I'm finding difficult is how so many people are quick to condemn a project which obviously took a tremendous investment of time and money, not caring about the consequences to KolRom. It's amazing how much careless damage can be caused by people who don't take the laws of she meira's halashon seriously!
