Aaaahhhhh just had a big glass of seltzer and for the first time I didn't make a brocha. Felt sooo rebellious...

Honestly, I take the side that seltzer is not only a real beverage but a choshuver one at that. I cannot fathom how anyone could treat it like water (though the MB's ruling about shalach manos seems to imply the opposite.)

To clarify: the mishna berura says drink is ok for shlach Mono's.

I added from other poskim (that I remember, that water is not ok.) (Dunno if the mb mentions water or not.)
I saw somewhere from r eliyashiv that seltzer is like water in this context.

Others clarify that drink (lit. Mashkeh ;) )does not mean water.
Still others say that seltzer is the same as water and does not qualify for shlach monos.

IE. coke, Jonny walker etc are fine.

I know its from inside a coconut. My question is whether its really juice like OJ or water ... Its a little different than OJ.
