Priority mail - requires signature?
« on: March 15, 2014, 08:04:33 PM »
I shipped a package within NYC on friday and the tracking at https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action?tLabels=9405503699300254797779 says "Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)"
I know my parents were home and while they may have been sleeping, since when does priority mail not leave it at the door?  I didn't add signature to it.

I think its up to the mailman...
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

You would think he would ring the bell as my parents were hope . The post office service has gotten to be complete garbage.
Not to mention that the 'notice left' status has the wrong zip code, so who knows what is really going on.

USPS is a big waste. I would rather pay more for UPS or FedEx and have USPS deliver it the last leg anyway.  :)
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

The point I am making you are paying more for UPS/FedEx but a lot of it is still delivered by USPS for the last leg of UPS/FedEx.

Only if you use fedex smartpost or usp surepost (I think it's called). if you use standard ground it's not.

and fedex smartpost has a carappierreputation than old fashioned post office. last time i googled smartpost it was one after another afer another.

OK didn't know you had the option. Just ordered a few things from Kohls (UPS and FedEx) and it came USPS.

Yeah, many stores are starting to do that as it is much cheaper (read much crappier). It basically goes fedex or ups ground to the post office then is delivered anytime from the same day to 3 days later.

Shipping price is a lot cheaper, but it's a slow service.
