Surprised that The Girl From Oslo didn’t make it to DDF yet.

It’s available on Netflix and produced in conjunction with Israeli Hot! And Norwegian TV2. A lot of the dialogue is in Hebrew or Norwegian, but that is all subtitled pretty well in English.

The dramatic story is set in Israel (incl. “Gaza”) and Norway, with great acting and awesome scenery. The plot doesn’t always add up (but that’s true for most shows) and sometimes the production is sloppy (scenes change between takes), but it’s a solid show. Hits home for me in more ways than most of y’all, but still relatable.

The first season is 10 episodes of ~33 minutes each, overall worth a watch IMHO. It ends in a way that there can be a season 2, hopefully they end up making one.

Couldn't finish it. Way too long and drawn out, should have been a 2 hour film. Also could not understand how jumping back and forth in the time line worked as a story telling device at all.

Half the plots and subplots revolved around the liberal news agenda from when it was being shot. Eg. One of the characters is a tranny, another a Mexican immigrant, and each goes through a major issue that only gets resolved by a shift to a more progressive agenda.

Some more series I've watched in the last few months:

- Blackspace (Israeli, Heb with subtitles, netflix) - this was good, suspenseful. Some mild sex scenes - an Israeli Cop is investigating an american style mass shooting in his old HS.

- Hanna season 3 (Amazon Prime) - each season was worst than the first, was not impressed. A young woman finds out she is a CIA super assassin experiment, and is running from the CIA.

- Ted Lasso (Apple+) - HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!! - Great show, Funny, great characters, a lot of feel good moments, promotes kindness - sadly - way too much cursing.

- Slow Horses (Apple+) - this was a good series - based on the books by Mick Hernon - pretty good, a few Gorey scenes.

- Teheran (Apple+) - I am watching season two - EXCELLENT series.

- The Wilds (Season 2, Prime) - I am watching season two, to describe it in a nutshell - imagine Lord of the Flies was started as a psychology experiment.
