Buying GC's in office supply stores will. Portals have different x's at different times.

ETA: Currently 4x at UR mall. You can buy a GC for 5x and then try to use it in UR mall for another 4x.

You can try and double/triple dip by buying store GC's online from office store (can even go through a portal to try and get more x points) use that GC to buy from said store online through a portal again.

Just an FYI, make sure you don't do anything "funny" when going through shopping portals. Lots of times the "connection" will get lost and they won't give you the extra points. Also is a YMMV for getting points on GC purchases through portal.

I was in nordstrom last night, and they offered me to set up a nordstrom debit card, linked to my bank. Anyone ever did that? Is there a credit pull? Is their points program even worth it?

I like the regular Nordstrom credit card, mainly to stay on their mailing list for new catalogues and pre-Sale announcements.
However, their points program is not so great (a $20 "Nordy Note", as they call it) comes in the mail at some point... (Maybe after $1,000?)

I prefer to use my SPG Amex there for spending, instead. Once in a while, the Nordstrom card just to keep their mailing updates.. (there's no annual fee)
