Hey, was in ey for a while and apparently my tracfone service had a long enuf break for me to lose my number (thought was on auto pay but whatever), and looks like the number was “assigned” to Verizon. Tracfone gave me a new number and said that they can’t help vis-à-vis porting the number back into their system, and Verizon’s website is pretty clear that you can’t request a specific number. Anyone have any experience/ thoughts/ ideas, would greatly appreciate as Inhad that number for a while

When you call the number what do you get?

Tried unlocking a refurbished LG classic bought a few years ago and activated a drop over 2 months ago. tfwunlockpolicy.com said it was not eligible. I called the unlocking department and they said that when the phone was originally bought it was activated for 2 days so now it is subject to the 12 month policy. I told him that it was activated for the first time 2 months ago and he explained that it was probably because it was refurbished. I asked for a supervisor and he said there was none available.

Anything I can do besides for wait out the next 10 months on terrible TracFone?  :-\

My  prizes from CV :)

I had the same problem a while ago here's the number to the managers 8006264883 ext 3324 they went able to help me but maybe you'll get lucky. I think what I ended up doing was just paying $100 to get it unlocked and then disputing it

Same issue here. The really stinky part is that technically they are right, according to their terms and conditions. Honestly dont think anyone there has the power to override this, as its probably all done by the system automatically. The only option is probably to pay $100, like this:

Though I do doubt the legality and ethicality/morality of this method... Even thought I do hate tracfone as much as anyone else. (read: a lot)

You are right what happened by me is I fist paid and then found out that the FCC requires them to unlock it after 60 days so I disputed.

So, I've managed to unlock multiple devices by swapping the sim card from one device to the next. Made a call and or text to register the device on the network. And to confirm that the sim was registered on the network, I went ahead and sent a text to 611-611 and sent the keyword FOUR, which would tell you what the last 4 digits of the IMEI number are, making sure the device you’re wanting unlocked is the last 4 digits for the IMEI, and then you can pop out the sim card and go to the next device.
In regards to the 12 months shenanigin, i have gotten some of those unlocked as well. its all about finding the right rep to help you with the  unlock. you will need to help them understand that it was sold from TracFone as a refurbished device or from eBay 2nd hand. Definitely YMMV
