Author Topic: Getting Free Credit Report / Score - Identity Monitor Substitutes (Read 44447 times)

I have citi monitor . Two days after I got it , I applied for the BA card . Nothing showed up on the report afterwards . There was mention of them only pulling once a month . I called them and they(someone in India) said it should of pulled , they probably knew who you were and didnt do an inquiry . Sounds like hogwash to me . Is the correct answer they only pull once in 30 days?

Seeing the report is useful, granted. But I saw the word "score" in this thread way too many times, considering it's FAKO and useless. Don't bother with non-FICO scores, they're meaningless.

Once every 30, but they are supposed to alert you to new activity. I highly doubt Chase didn't pull your report before issuing you a card.

Unless it only shows up once the actual card is issued. My card got stuck after verbal approval and was dislodged today (quoting the CSR). Not that it should be a factor since the pull happened a week ago and should be on my account regardless of approval. Or maybe just maybe I got lucky.

Obviously something is wrong . Since I signed up I got approved for a BA card , closed my CO card to get the BA card , and closed a Citi card . I didn't even get one notification . I think its wishful thinking that I didn't get a hard pull for my BA card . Will call them when I have the patience to deal with someone in India.

If anyone can post their # would be appreciated . I don't have access to a computer these days , and my phone is awfully slow.

Would call now just don't want to wake my kids who are sleeping in the same room as me . And every other room has at least one person sleeping there. AH! the joys of Y"T by your inlaws.

Since you don't have computer access, this recommendation might not work for you, but perhaps you need to log onto your identity-monitor account. All your alorts are displayed there as well, I'm wondering what yours shows (could be just the email part isn't working).

I logged on Thu. and there was nothing in the alerts section. Will call and report back.

I just (Friday) cancelled an Identity Monitor 30 day trial, can I restart another one today?

I just called to cancel and they said that i actually get about 45 days for a $1 which is great cuz you can then pull your report twice without having to cancel

They did, but I passed on it. They mail you coupons that you have to mail back to get the $10 debit cards, and they told me I'd only get one bureau.

I signed up April 1st, canceled about the 10th. Since then I tried twice to sign up again, each time it said you already have an account, log in and put your credit card info from there... IDK I'm guessing you need to wait 30 days for the report to expire.
