A check from Guaranty Bank?
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:49:28 PM »
My dad said I received a check for $4 from, "In check: guaranty bank"

I have NO idea what it's from. I thought it was Bluebird panels, but they said my check is in the mail.

Anyone know what and where it's from?

Thanks

I think I got it a few weeks ago. It wasn't a real check, they were saying that if you do something (I don't remember what) then they'll give you money.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

No, this was a regular check. It already cleared in my bank account. I'm racking my head to know where it's from.

By depositing the check, you my have given permission. You have to read the terms and conditions. I doubt if the envelope had nothing but a check, no letter.

Gotta read the T and C's. I never deposit those "free money" checks.

OK, so now that it has been deposited (I live in Israel, so my dad deposits any checks I receive...) is there a way to blacklist them or something? Can I preempt the withdraws or reverse the deposit check? AND what are they withdrawing as? Meaning, what description?

Keep an eye out for any unauthorized charges, report anything suspicious right away.

If I were you I'd put a block on any charges from them now. Once charged, disputing a bank charge is a much bigger hassle than a CC chargeback.

No papers.

I've contacted a guy I know at the bank and told him the situation. I am waiting to hear what he has to say. I don't know if they can block any charges before the fact. Besides, it's possible they'd use a different name.
