Just got a call back from United PR Dept. They apologized, they understand my concern...blah...blah...blah...and said the only further feedback I will have is if I notice a change in policy. (I should keep checking the websites..seriously )

I think its time for the letter to be sent..Also maybe worth dealing with Twitter?

Not sure why cancelling a service that resulted in more failures-complaints-compensation than meals is considered insensitive.

Just about to email United the following: (any comments before I send?)

As a frequent flyer who keeps Kosher, I was appalled to learn that these special meals will be discontinued in first class cabins on almost all the of United flights. I think that it is a very good way to spit in the face of your premium customers. When traveling in many areas of the United States it can be difficult to purchase kosher food before a flight and therefore having that meal is an important factor in enjoying our travel. This is a clear disgrace as United chooses to discriminate against its customers with special needs, and is congruent with United's race to the bottom in the US airline industry. I certainly hope that United reevaluates this cost cutting measure immediately. The mainstream media will have a hey day publicizing this new policy. If United feels they can save money by doing this, they may as well stop all meals in first class, but to do some thing like this is unacceptable.
I would like a thorough explanation about this decision.

I know its been a while since this has been revisited.  I have a flight ewr-sfo in June, and when I spoke to a United agent, I asked that she do whatever she could to get me a kosher meal.  She claims she notated my account, obviously no guarantee but if they have a meal available it will be loaded.
Dont have too high hopes on this (and will bring along food in case) but has anyone ever had a similar experience where a flight doesnt officially offer a kosher meal but a request got it added for the individual flight?
