Upgrading from HDD hard drive to SSD
« on: March 20, 2014, 04:31:39 PM »
I am looking to swap out my 750 GB HDD hard drive with a 250 GB SATA III SSD anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions on brand or size? Please share any experiences you have had including which make and model computer/notebook you  did the swap on.

Just unplug the one you have and plug the SSD in.
It's really that simple.

Try doing that, and see what happens.

You have to clone your existing drive if u want to replace it.  SSD will usually come with software to facilitate.  Lots of YouTube videos explaining how it's done.

Bought a Samsung 840 EVO SATA III 250 GB and swapped it out, so far it i have seen drastic improvements to my laptop as far as speed and boot time go. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is having problems with their laptop with speed or performance. Installation took me 1hr including cloning my old drive and the complete installation of my new one.

Most new SSD drives come with software to clone your old drive.
