Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.

Ironically, Techloq blocks access to that link.

Perhaps because it's not https?

Are there any routers/modems with built in (adequate) filtering capabilities?
Settled on any specific option?

Have someone at Techloq customize your categories according to your needs/wants. It is not a big deal from them to do so. Will be easier than doing one site at a time. Ask them to go through the catogories with you one at a time, and let them know if you want it open totally, with greyed out images, or blocked. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to go through all the categories.

Recently got Gen Tech works amazing.
I guess i'll be looking into that. Wrong board to be discussing this, will take it to the filter thread.
One of my reasons i wanted a filter with a proxy vs a VPN was to extend the battery life of my device.
If have a vpn running in the background, like netspark or gentech its draining the battery, vs a proxy there's nothing running except when searching its a tad slower as its running through a proxy.
Also a proxy is horrible as well as half of the websites don't work.

i had the same problem and it seems like htis time they are somehow using facebook url. Could it be my filter blocked it?

Has anyone had it that specific buttons on websites are blocked because of filters (Gentch/Techloq), eg the 'place in cart' button doesnt do anything?

Not me, so far.
But only with them for about a month.

One mildly annoying experience I have with Techloq is that approximately every 10 web pages I will get the attached message.
I never had this before I installed the filter.
It's not a big deal, since I just have to click "try again" or refresh to get the desired page.

Using wifi or mobile data ? Seems like it's a desktop?

Just curious why did you go with techloq over gentech?

1 - Laptop using wifi. Why would this be happening?
2 - I got the impression from around here that it slows down the system the least. Why, what do you feel?

I still haven't gotten clear if there are people in these internet filter companies that see your browsing history or are the filters running automatically unless a special request is made?

On NetFree they do not collect anything and if you need them to open something you need to record it yourself and send it to them using their Internet Traffic Recording tool.
