Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.

I recently installed k9, and I find that web page loading is very slow. I get a message: resolving something or other. Is this because of k9? Is it unrelated? Any advice would be appeciated.
K9 is known to slow down webpage loading times (just like many other filters). Regarding the error message you're seeing, idk please be more specific.

Thanks for replying.
The message is "Resolving host...". Usually, it loads after a pause. Sometimes, it doesn't load, and gives a message: This webpage is not available DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG.
Any thoughts?

I set k9 to block open image search but it still search google images. Is there any way to block that?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Have the same. I don't think there's a way, as that's part of standard Google search. CMIIW

Why lately? It hasn't been blocking it by me for 2+ years now, despite the settings being at pretty strict.

It was blocking by me for over 2 years.
Every time my wife needed to make an arts and crafts I had to put in the password (we split the password).

Either way - with forcing safe search - it's not the end of the world.

I think this thread should be divided into two, one for smartphones and one for computers.

Or better yet, one for android, one for I-phone and a third for computers.

Very interested in hearing of anyone had experience with any of these. I have a galaxy s6 and have yet to find a good filter that doesn't totally block me out of every stupid thing (settings, etc). I wish there was an intelligent filter like nativ has for pc

Can I block image search on desktop via k9?
I used the Windows easy option of disabling IPV6 from the wiki for a user and it worked not sure it would work for everybody but it is worth a try

You can try http://www.mozbot.com/
This search engine gives the same results as Google but does not offer the image reherche
