Android Installation
A. Important:
• The device may be wiped during setup.
This is usually avoided by removing ALL accounts from the phone.
see below for further instructions.
• Removing the software will involve wiping the device.

B. Remove ALL accounts from the device (Google, Facebook, WhatsApp etc):
1. Open your devices settings.
2. Type "Accounts" in the search bar.
3. Tap to open the Accounts Settings.
4. Tap on each account & select the "Remove" option

C. Turn on USB Debugging:
1. Open your devices Settings
2. Tap About device and then tap Software Information.
3. Tap the build number multiple time until it says "You are a developer".
4. Open Settings again & then tap Developer Options.
5. Turn ON USB Debugging.

Every filter requires to wipe the phone?
when I get near computer will try This filter and see how it works.

You can also try purifeye. I've gotten some positive feedback from a fellow TAG volunteer that tried it on his own device.
Although Tag doesn't officially recommend it yet, since we don't know enough and don't have access to the backend yet.

The way we work is that the device is filtered through a proxy as opposed to a VPN that many companies use. Both approaches has various pros and cons. One major con that our system has unfortunately, is that when apps are being filtered often they do not operate as they should. As such, we advise using apps that require filtering such as YouTube, Instagram etc through the actual browser and not the app itself. If a client insists on using the app, we can allow it but we cannot guarantee any filtering.

  Gentech and netspark uses what?

Netspark uses VPN.
Hence the apps can be filtered.

Though, depending on your device there is a simple workaround available for those willing to make the effort.

You mean my kid can likely figure out how to bypass the filter?

Yes, it can be done relatively consistently. But it isn't permanent, is a pain, and you can likely figure out if/when they do.

Still...

1 - Why is Nativ for 2 computers half the price of the others?

2 - Would the others price-match?

3 - What are Nativ, Gentech & Techloq's policies regarding viewing and/or storing users information (browsing history, CC numbers, passwords, medical research etc.)? I can't seem to find answers to this up thread, but many people (who I am encouraging to get filters) are concerned about this.

I would appreciate any informed responses.

Best bet is for one of the TAG employees to answer or reach out to TAG with that question, very valid question for anyone who uses chrome which stores every piece of information or even Mozilla Firefox.
Or does that mean you can't store these sensitive pieces of information on chrome or Firefox anymore after getting a filter?

1. No reason. Each company decides their own pricing.

2. No

By installing the GenTech Filter you are giving us the permission to share your information with Organizations or Communities associated with us.

Yes, it is.

And what about the fact that they track and store your information (if I understood their terms correctly)?
I can not, in good conscience, encourage people to get filters if it means other people from the same (Frum) community have access to our private searches & information.
I hate to say that - but it's how I feel.

I see no reason in the world why they would need to track & store our information.

I do believe strongly in what TAG is doing for Klal Yisroel but they really should press these companies to not store their customer's information.

I would love to hear from the TAG representatives that frequent this forum and from the companies themselves.

I believe what gentech is referring to is the following:
Within their system, they have different "resellers" (ie: communities).
When you sign up with a specific community, for example, TAG or one that your own community set-up, then they will share info as needed to the admins if "those communities".

I will try to get a clearer picture from them and post back here.

1. Because they have half the service of the others (Half Staff is Half Price)
2. No discounts unless in bulk.
3. Just go onto the websites and check they only use Data to help the product and they erase most data every few days.

Just a question that really bothers me:
Why is one Esrog $30 and the other one $499 they both do the same job!?!?!?
or even better why should someone pay for an Esrog $499 when he has one for $30?!?!?!?

No need to mock a legitimate question.
The point of the question was to ascertain if Nativ's filter is perhaps not as effective or causes the computer to slow down more, hence the lower price.
Above you answered that it's due to less support. A fair answer. No need to mock.

I didn`t mock anyone I just put it as a point for people looking thru the thread hopefully people will understand why you need to spend on a filter nothing to do with your question it`s a buildup of questions and future questions what i`m answering (I didn`t qoute it because its not on you)
