Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.
(May not be enough for teenagers - consult your own advisers - this solution sure beats doing nothing and there is no excuse)

Does it actually work on a kindle?
Other filters can easily be overridden.

It is impossible to properly filter an Amazon Kindle fire. The pre-installed bloatware doesn't grant enough access to any program (such as device policy) that will control the device.

It is always possible to reset the device. The inbuilt filters (parental control) are limited and sometimes glitchy.

What do the experts say about this concern?

I copied it from here:
https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/what-can-the-company-running-a-kosher-internet-filter-see

I am a little concerned about something I was reading the other day. I was always under the impression that Internet filters worked by either a “whitelist” of websites that are allowed, blocking all others, or by just sending the list of visited websites to a shomer. But I’ve heard that some new kosher Internet Service Providers (ISP) are requiring full unrestricted access to everything. (I’ll write up the technical details in the bottom paragraph if that’s something you’re interested int). This is really worrying to me. Not only do they see what websites you visit and what content is on those websites, but they have all of your passwords, can read all of your emails, bank statements, access online purchases, credit cards, etc. This is extremely problematic for people who are running home businesses, do you really want Shprintze the IT person at KTech to look be able to look at your medical history?
{snip}
Now, what some Kosher ISPs do is intercept the certificates exchanged between the two computers, and put their own their instead. The logic is fine, because they need to be able to see what your looking at, otherwise the shmira doesn’t work. But they can see everything because they literally have the keys to your kingdom.

The answer is true but not, They could see every website or anything else because all the traffic goes thru their server but most tech guys can`t enter your log. Besides that ``John`` who works for your cable network provider could see much more then that so maybe stop using cable?

they do the same as the cable provider or even more. and besides the point those few don`t have time for taking down cc numbers etc. in short there is nothing what to worry about but if someone with the right power in the comp wants they could  enter your info but not easy

where do you get this from? they don't have a trusted cert, it would break the chain if it goes through them, please explain yourself

and besides the point those few don`t have time for taking down cc numbers etc.
bottom line you need to trust them blindly

Real "Issues", or just a small issue where you need to respond to them with some more info on regards to this? I know several people that had this issue but I think it wasn't a real issue in the end.

BTW, the filler is actually in the US, the issue stems from the way their hosting provider (IBM cloud) is managing their IPs (same IP address can sometimes be in the US and sometimes in the Netherlands.)

Big difference.
"John" from Optimum has no connection to you and your life whatsoever.
"Shmuely" from the Frum internet filter company may know you and certainly knows someone who knows you (you get the point).

Not very likely when using a filter like Techloq, Netfree, or Netspark (basically, not the Livigent based local filters.)
