Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.

True, but I had a converter opened in another tab already so that was easiest option for me at that point.

So, I finally threw out my K9. I put some parental restrictions on my router, is there a consensus on the filter with the least issues?

Just found another cool thing about Techloq.
You can have different filters for diffrent times of the day. For example you can from 9- 11 you have a filter for only email and then from 11- 2 open everything etc....

Why'd you get rid of K9?  Router-level filter does *not* replace what K9 was doing..

For starters the filtering categories on K9 keep on changing.

Of course not. That's why I'm asking here. But k9 is no longer supported, and is also no longer approved by my kids school :)

I personally dont have, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews about Techloq. Expensive, but everyone says worth the price.
I'm not who you think I am.

Some unblock requests are automatic and some a person has to do it.
They do work regular business hours with offices in Israel and maybe a few people working some night American hours.

Is there a way to block the browser etc on an IPad so it is 100% safe for a teenager to use offline? Does TAG do this? Thanks

At some point I remember hearing that TAG will open it up and break off the wireless antennas. Not sure if they still offer that and if you'd want to make this permanent

TaG says Nothing is ever 100% safe, especially with teenagers, but I think they like apple restrictions. I’m pretty sure you can totally block the browser with a password

They do on the newer versions of ios but I'm not sure they are perfect.

Case in point: Telegram has much undesirable content and a full web browser but since it was labeled as a messaging app it was marked as age 4+... took years to mark 18+

Techloq (so far) is only for Windows computers.
