And what happens when the gov't decides that you also shouldn't be reading about XYZ.
Seems like a slippery slope.

If you can't handle the temptations then get a filter but why should the government be getting mixed into filtering?

+1, they have no interest in blocking pornography, they just want the infrastructure in place to allow them to block content at will.

The irony here is that the same people cursing out Obama/NSA are the ones saying they should get involved in mass-filtering.
I don't get it. Can't people see how ripe that is for abuse :P

You can say the same for drugs, sure, they're bad for you, but what right does the government have to tell people what they can and cannot put in their bodies?
no one seems to think that by making drugs illegal, the government is getting mixed in our personal lives... its just another thing that corrupts the people and according to Mr. Cameron the government has a "moral duty" to do something about it.

That's a terrible analogy.
The government has the right to control dangerous substances just like weapons of mass destruction.  Ron Paul will say that you are correct though w/r/t weed.

But we already clearly see the government has few checks and balances when it comes to privacy on the internet.  Once they take the initiative to censor some of it there's no telling where that road goes when the NSA decides it to be necessary for the greater good.

You can't have it both ways.  Don't tell the government to be more involved when it's good for your own personal agenda but not when it doesn't suit you.

Ted Bundy will disagree with you, he (among other serial killers) attributed his madness, mass killings, rapes and kidnappings to pornography
, true, he was f***** up, but you can see why my analogy may not be so terrible

Every device or internet should have a choice to block Porn to protect kids, not for the government to control but to enforce company's like Verizon Apple Google to have the option otherwise it will never happen

Radio and TV are "Filtered" they still work fine and there is no government blocking of views etc

The problem with the internet the more you are addicted the more money they'll make, Porn brings addition so they most be enforced to stop and give choice.

Besides, they are not eliminating porn, if you want it you will have to make the decision to opt in. They are setting the default as clean and moral.

In the news today Pashavilin thrown against people who Install Filters in the name of Rabbis after the Internet Asifa to then collect private information to steal money from those people :Photo: twitpic.com/d4h158

Did I warn you that this is coming, just know it's only the beginning.

Livigent is the only filter currently who can see private information, Meshimer, Venishmartem VCF filter they are all part of Livigent be smart and stay away from them if you need a filter use K9 or something else....
