Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.

Yes it can have its own - slows it down though.
Go to adapter settings, click on IPv4 - Properties, DNS.
How would it work if there is a contradiction?
Can this be done on a Chromebook?
Why should it slow things down? It it's only telling which DNS to use?
Feelings don't care about your facts

Apple have their own restrictions in the settings that can filter adult content in the safari browser. You set it with a four digit code, so you can have someone else set it up for you.
Does apples restrictions work for other browers downloaded to the phone? How good is it at restricting adult content?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

So why are people getting NetNanny and other filters over the native filter? My understanding is the filtered browsers are much slower. Also, you cant open up email links in non-safari browsers.???

Don't know about other people but I'd say Apple restrictions + manually restricting:

Youtube.com
https://m.youtube.com
m.tumblr.com
tumblr.com
https://www.tumblr.com
https://vine.co
https://vine.com

Is pretty strong.

A TAG guy (who happens to be a fellow DDFer too..) told me Apples own filter is the best for iOS.

Apples' restrictions allows you to restrict specific sites in addition to what is blocked by the filter? and that works for other browsers installed on the device as well?

Apple blocks well, but filters terribly.   Blocking adult-only sites still blocks TONS of other regular sites.

Agreed, but it's worth it.
It is a dynamic filter so it will block a site today if it has a gruesome photo and tomorrow it will be open.  You need to whitelist sites that you find it blocks to often.  But otherwise it is great!

The Apple filter won't allow other browsers that can reach adult content, or it filters within those browsers as well? If the latter is true, are the added whitelisted sites also allowed on the other browsers?

It filters 3rd party browsers as well, it not just blocks them, and yes, added white/black lists will work on those 3rd party browsers as well.

Yeah, Tumblr is never blocked, (except when there's a word in the link they don't like), hence the need to black list it, all while the secure message center at Citibank is totally blocked..

I just updated my OpenDNS to 'high' filtering.  I waited a few minutes, then I tested it.  I was able to get porn on my Samsung Galaxy Victory.
How do I filter the phone?  No service, just to be used for games and such.
My favorite cause: cssy.org

After trying countless android filters, and without getting into all the issues my new favorite android filter is Net Nanny. It filters sites that all the others didnt especially those with dynamic content
