Suggestion: Have someone else have the password (or half and half with a spouse) and do the following:
Lock installing apps + remove browser + add apps you need (possible rules: no games, no sports, no entertainment, etc.).
[Occasionally an app will have a built in browser/or need to access a certain website - just go back in to settings (with password) and add that website].
There is time restrictions and more features too.

Any recommendation of a foolproof method to restrict ALL internet access but allow TeamViewer to function properly?

After trying countless android filters, and without getting into all the issues my new favorite android filter is Net Nanny. It filters sites that all the others didnt especially those with dynamic content
Thanks.  I installed it and it looks good.
My favorite cause: cssy.org

+1 imo it's worth paying $12 per year.
Problem is net nanny always crashes.

Apple filter works on its own.

We don't have a filter exactly but a monitoring software by SpectorSoft. Wife can see everything and it actually records a "stream" of entire web sessions and has a lot of other cool features.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the following:

I have an android phone (Galaxy S4), and for a while I have protected myself using Smart App Protector to lock down the Google Play store, the browsers and any other apps that could lead to unrestricted internet access. This has worked for quite a while (although it was a but annoying having to use my PC anytime I needed to look something up, it did the trick).

However, recently I discovered that even with the Google Play store locked on my device, I am able to download apps to my phone (say, a new browser) from the Google Play store using my PC (which is logged in to my Google account). This defeats the whole purpose of locking down my phone. I'm wondering if anyone has a solutions to this.

The only solution I could think of would be to change the Google account my phone is associated with to a new account to which I would not know the password, but this would be my final resort since I don't want to hard-reset my phone and lose all my paid for apps. If someone has a better suggestions, please chime in.

Thnaks

I used opendns and was pretty happy with it  ( a few sites slipped through but overall it was pretty solid).
The problem is I just changed from Comcast to uverse and apparently open DNS doesn't work with uverse.
Has anyone figured out how to make it work with uverse?
Anyone know of a router based solution that is either free like open DNS or relatively inexpensive?
Thanks

If your PC is also filtered, doesn't that limit what you can download to your Google account / phone?  If so, isn't this enough?  If not, I see the problem.

My PC is filtered (I use Web Chaver with filtering) however, that does not stop me from going to the Google Play Store and downloading a web browser app. The problem is the unrestricted activity that can be done within the browser one it's on the phone.

With Smart App Protector you have 2 options.
1) lock package installer, so no apps can be installed without the password.
2) auto lock new apps so they have to be unlocked by the password holder after installation

There's an option over there that locks every new app downloaded to the device, so even when you download via PCI you won't be able to open it.

Can you blacklist the whole play store site on the computer?
