Outlet Malls
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:01:52 AM »
Hey Everyone,

Driving Chicago to NY for Pesach and figured I should make the best of the drive. Im trying to figure where along the I80 is the best place to stop for outlet mall shopping. I figure we do the trip in 2 days with one day dedicated to shopping. I know PA has no tax on clothing but in Jersey theres a really big mall. And I don't even know anything about Indiana or Ohio. Any help would greatly appreciated, would love to stretch my hard earned parnasa as far as possible.
TIA

Just go in NJ. Jersey Gardens (Elizabeth, NJ right off the Turnpike exit 13A) is the best outlet mall in the world. It's been proven.

Overrated. Most of the outlet stores I like shopping in have better selections in the Bergen outlets (or upstate). If only they were open Sundays...

I would recommend the Bergen Outlets

LOL

FYI to the others, I can walk out of Banana there with 15 items for a total of like $150. Ties @ L&T are $10 max. Shoes @ Aldo/Call it Spring for $30-40. Kosher Haagen Dasz and Rita's. I love it.

Is the Ritas also outlet prices? I've rarely had luck with suits there. Could be my size, but I've done much better in Bergen. Ties as well.

Thanks for your responses so far keep em coming. I have noticed that a lot of "outlet" stores are really just regular price stores with B product made just for them. Which makes it not much of a deal.

@Ssrver2000 Yeah I just saw today PA and NJ dont have sales tax on clothing.

In that case, other than being all in the same place is it worth going to one? Me and the wife need a whole new wardrobe and would like to get some things for my daughter.

The best stores @ Bergen are the department outlet stores like Saks off fifth, Neiman Marcus last call, nordstrom rack, and bloomies outlet. Those stores have regular products. Then you also have stores like jcrew, banana, gap etc that do sell mostly just stuff produced for those stores. And there is a giant century21 there as well.
