You do realize it is not even close to a done deal and would come at an extraordinary cost to Israel... I have ready that Pollard doesnt like the deal and doesnt want to be released under those terms

Releasing pollard has been a topic of conversation during all the peace talks over the past 10-20 years. As others here noted, if the US is actually serious about it, it means that they will ask for something really draconian in return from Israel. Hearing this scares me more than anything else.
People should realize that the US is not a benevolent friend of Israel for friendship's sake. They only care inasmuch as the relationship benefits them.

Nobody cares if a country is democratic or not.

What matters is stable, peaceful government. The ME is full of countries like that, for example  the UAE and Jordan.

The only reason the US cares about Israel is because of influential Jews in America and Israel's high defense exporting capabilities.
