If you are ready to start giving prices then maybe a column can be added for Farm Fresh
+1
He/she didn't mention if The Farm is any cheaper..
Also it can be argued if it's bigger/nicer too.

Tachlis: After Pesach, if the owners hear that they may be able to sell 300 more fish loaves per week if priced closer to $5 per loaf (Dagim), then perhaps they'll consider that.

I disagree with that thinking. I don't think that npgs or shloimys think that they are losing out on fish sales or other sales to krm. They know that we won't run in to bp just for that. My point of all this is that they should get the point, that we are not dumb and we are aware of which items they are price gouging us on, and hopefully with enough pressure we can get them to lower some prices.

yes -- That's exactly my point. This wiki shows the facts and by choosing a few examples of where they can increase their volume
on certain items if they lower their prices on a select few will accomplish a great deal. "An educated consumer." That's the tachlis that I was referring to.

I would especially like to activate this thread again when Gourmet Glatt opens, so we can compare Gourmet Glatt Boro Park vs Gourmet Glatt Lakewood.

so now it's open. After the grand opening, the prices in BP and Lakewood will probably be the same. Check the Natural and Kosher cheese -- they may extend their pricing.

I was waiting for someone to dig up this thread :)
I don't know (or think) that gg Lakewood prices will be identical to the bp prices.
It would be nice if someone wanted to start a new gg thread to be used for price comparisons only.
Im sure we would have a lot of Lakewood volunteers to post prices. The question is if we can have some BP volunteers help out with getting matching pricing.

we can just add a GG-Lakewood column to this wiki. It will be helpful to keep it here bec we can also look at more Shloimy's and KosherWest prices at the same time.

Whatever works. As long as we have volunteers in both locations.
Although, I personally would prefer a thread dedicated specifically to gg vs gg. This way, if people bring this thread to gg ownership's attention, they will clearly see how we realize that their Lakewood prices are not up to par with the BP prices (if that turns out to be the case). Having all these other stores in a wiki, will just help them justify higher prices in Lakewood, since they will compare themselves to a Shloimy's or a Kosher West, which is not my intention with such a thread. Plus, many of these prices are old already.
But whatever you people think...

I edited the wiki to reflect both Gourmet Glatt's side-by-side and also to allow for other BP and Lakewood data entry.

I think it should only be used to compare REG priced items. Otherwise, its simply impossible to compare.
Unless, we start a new thread devoted strictly to GG, where we compare both reg to reg, as well as sale prices to sale prices on a weekly basis.

That's the big problem with all the guys posting receipts.
Most of us are deal seekers and love to buy sales and share the great prices we got.

But by far, most of the stuff you need will not be on sale, and if you go shopping to pick up something you need now, or your weekly groceries, you will need to pay the every day prices on most things you purchase.

some of us shop by what's on sale, however, I agree -- we should post regular prices on some basic, typical items -- this way it's consistent. It would be impossible to update the columns with each week's specials/sales.

If you only buy items on sale you'll have to be shopping around in a bunch of different stores and monitoring sales for all of them. My understanding of a supermarket is a store that you go to buy everything (or almost everything) you need.

+1. The theory behind sales in these types of supermarkets are: 1) Advertise a sale so good that people who normally shop elsewhere will come shop by you. 2) Sell more of a single product that people will now get more of even though they don't need more [e.g. Tuna Cans, Chummus, Frozen Pizza] 3) Reduce the prohibitive price of a "luxury item" so that it is now affordable - and get the consumer "addicted" (or at least to rationalize spending the money when it goes back to regular price.)
