Very simple: people pay it so they can charge it. They sell out every year and I guarantee you that next year will be even more expensive.

And yes, it's per lb, not -2lb box.

How does the Ukraine situation play into Matzah pricing this year? The Ukrainian stuff is bottom of the barrel, but any supply shortages at the bottom will drive pricing up across the board.
