I heard there is gluten free wheat (whole?) matzah. No clue how it's possible or where to get it though...

Doesn’t make sense. AFAIK the process for removing gluten from wheat requires washing, which isn’t an option for matzah.

Here were the prices at Rockland Kosher in Monsey as of this past Sunday. Note that I didn't write them all down, there were some whole wheat, oat etc. that I wasn't really interested in.

I agree, I have no clue how it's possible, but actually got hold of it from bakery in Crown Heights on Albany Ave.
I believe they get the flour from Satmar.

I don’t think it’s about labor costs. I bought “מצות הגאולה Redemption Matzo” for $16.99 a pound. Very thin & quite good.
