Was wondering why I can't buy a ring from Costco on my CC to meet spending threshold and then return 3 months later after I'm credited te sign on bonus (credit the points to BA so they can't be taken back from Amex/Chase)Thanks
Seems like everyone is talking about manufactured spending/ VR/ GC/ etc. but returning an item after the miles are credited seems exponentially easier than all of that
And a lot less ethical. But there's a thread for that.
And stealing from the store.. Anyways, the points may get clawed back
I asked this question to a manger of wal mart. Can I buy something knowing I'm going to return it. He said yes. Simply because they hope you will lose the receipt or brake it or even decide to keep the item.
I bought a car, and I brake it all the time
I hope you don't try to return it afterwards. That would be unethical.
What makes you thinking they can't clew back the niles once it's in a BA Account?
I thought it's generally accepted that once points have posted to an account other than UR and MR, they are safe?
Well, AA for sure not.
I guess you'll have to fly before returning the item
You won't be able to fly with AA miles ever again though. Your account will be shut down.
so open another one...
I guess you have multiple SSNs.
