Was wondering why I can't buy a ring from Costco on my CC to meet spending threshold and then return 3 months later after I'm credited te sign on bonus (credit the points to BA so they can't be taken back from Amex/Chase)

I asked this question to a manger of wal mart. Can I buy something knowing I'm going to return it. He said yes. Simply because they hope you will lose the receipt or brake it or even decide to keep the item.
